Makaylah joined us on one of our tours to Gambia in 2015 at the time Makaylah was 9 years old. It was truly a beautiful experience to share with Makaylah watching her grow and be able to give to others.
The itinerary included excursions and the opportunity to visit interesting places to inspire and educate many people about African culture. Makaylah wrote daily in her journal about what she was experiencing which included, being able to touch crocodiles, holding a snake, turtles and many more animals. Makaylah's inspiration for her book was when she was walking to Kanchikally Crocodile Pool and we had stopped to interact with the local children, In this picture shown below...
This was the moment she gave her notebook to the young girl. In the Gambia a exercise book is a very important as we know that it can impact on a child's progress if they cannot afford the basic resources needed for school.
